B. Hunt x Livintage Apparel | Rooted Minds Spotlight Feature

Welcome back to another spotlight feature by the Rooted Minds Blog, where we connect with Artists and Entrepreneurs to learn about their journey and shed some light on the moves that they are making in their communities. It is a really interesting time of the year and we've been looking forward to this interview for a while.

We start our year off with an incredible feature, as this one feature the business of style. Style and Fashion is a huge part of our culture from Work Fashion, Seasonal Fashion, Casual, Upscale, Events, etc. "No matter the mood, there is a fashion for that." Some of our favorite athletes have started paying attention to their pre-game fashion and now we are starting to see tunnel shots of athletes arriving to the stadium in style. Even more so we are starting to see video games like NBA 2K20 start to incorporate fashion into the MyPlayer mode game.

Let me not run on about where fashion is growing to, let's shift focus on our feature for this week. We've known this guy for almost half a decade and in that time he's made some major moves and positive transformations towards building his brand 'Livintage Apparel'

In this article we'll learn a little about the man behind the business and how he's grown into who he is today. We have an on camera interviewed lined up for the Sunday at 5pm MST, and we hope that you'll join us.

Livintage is owned and operated by its CEO B. Hunt. B. Hunt is currently running everything from Dallas, Texas, but has been making moves across the country as well as internationally. He's been an avid supporter of the I Am Root® Brand here in Phoenix. He's supported many of our open-mics, showcases, podcasts, and special releases. It's dope that we get to shed some light on what he has going on, as we close out 2020 and kick off 2021.

2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for many reasons, but we are blessed to have health, family, and an opportunity to build a future for ourselves. I say that, hopefully, speaking for entrepreneurs across the world. I am very excited to continue our series of interviewing entrepreneurs and learning how they've navigated during a Covid-19 filled 2020. It's important for the I Am Root® brand to celebrate the stories behind the businesses and people we support. We hope this brings you light and inspiration!

RM: Rooted Minds

BH: B. Hunt

RM: How's your 2020 been both personally and for the brand?

BH: It’s honestly been a great opportunity to expand my brand and really put time into perfecting it. It’s been awesome. I dropped a men’s and women’s collection, booked several celebrity clients, plus my son was born.

RM: How did you come up with Livintage (the name)?

BH: I wanted a name that would be memorable and also I have a love for vintage fashion and trends. That’s how I started my brand by collecting unique vintage items. Vintage styles are classic and always come back into style. Livintage is a classic brand and my goal is to always stay on top of trends new and old.

RM: How have you grown as an entrepreneur in the last 5 years?

BH: I’ve learned a lot about myself, my business, and how to keep my clientele coming back. I forced myself to grow when I packed up my whole store and moved to texas to expand my brand.

RM: How did it feel to land your first celebrity client?

BH: It felt like I was on top of the world. It was also very humbling experience knowing someone of that stature trusted me with their wardrobe. It motivated me to strive for more top celebrity clients.

RM: Who are some of your biggest influences in fashion, music, or just life in general? If no person, then maybe tell us what things inspire you?

BH: Biggest influence in fashion is my parents. I grew up seeing my mom and dad getting dressed for church or other events and I wanted to be just like them.

RM: When someone thinks of your brand [Livintage Apparel], what types of things would you hope came to mind?

BH: Eclectic styles and trends, the culture, a brand that makes you want to stand out and be yourself. .

RM: What has been your biggest accomplishment so far? What was the journey like to reach that goal?

BH: Biggest accomplishment is having a brand and keeping it successful over a 5 year period. Also landing celebrity clients is a huge accomplishment in itself. It has been a long journey of ups and downs.

RM: What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

BH: Biggest challenge was building my brand and getting people to trust me with styling them. I overcame it by perfecting my craft. Styling as many shoots as I can.

RM: As 2021 quickly approaches, what kinds of things are you hoping to manifest in the New Year?

BH: I’m manifesting that I book more celebrity clients, style a red carpet look, style basketball players, and build the brand more, finish a couple books, acquire a space for my brand, a new home, and build a team for my brand.
