The story of reggie ivy
starts in the woods
near a toxic bush;
hands were t-shirt high
when they shot him.
I mean to say his hands and arms
were as high as they were
the first time I ever saw him
put on a t-shirt,
he was 3,
well 13 when he died,
when they shot him,
hands up not harming anybody
just stopped to smell the roses.
